Serena, Matheo and Michelle tell their story

This year’s baptism was a deeply moving and unforgettable moment in our church family. We asked a few who took this step of faith to share how they experienced it. Their answers were filled with emotion, faith, and gratitude.
Here's a glimpse into their hearts. The questions were
1. How did you experience the moment of your baptism?
2. What does baptism mean to you personally?
3. Was there something that particularly touched you on that day?

1."I experienced the moment of baptism as both frightening and liberating. While I couldn’t wait to lay down the weight of my past, it also felt like jumping off a cliff but I landed softer than ever before."
2."For me, baptism means a new beginning free from the past and old habits. Renewed in heart, character, and soul."

3."The brothers and sisters who were baptized alongside me were a powerful group of loving and selfless individuals. It’s an honor to share such a meaningful day with them."
1."The moment of baptism was incredibly powerful. It was deeply moving and spiritual experience which went far beyond what I had imagined. I’m truly grateful for that moment and for the church community"
2. "Baptism, for me personally, means officially giving my life to Jesus. My old self doesn’t just need to die, it has to!!! From now on, I walk with God and try to follow in His footsteps."
3. "During the baptism, I couldn’t hold back my tears. Honestly, it felt like a heavy burden was lifted off my shoulders. My old self had become a weight I was carrying. In that moment, I briefly looked back on everything I had been through and as soon as I was immersed in the water, it all disappeared. My thoughts were wiped clean. What happened in the past is now in the past. That was such a powerful and touching moment for me. A true new beginning… you know what I mean. "

1." What I felt in that moment is truly hard to put into words. It was as if a heavy burden fell off me—one I didn’t even know I was carrying. Years of worries just lifted. I felt pure peace and love in that moment. It was the most important and best decision I’ve ever made."
2. " Baptism means so much to me. I’m incredibly thankful that I had the chance to be baptized. For me, it means becoming a new creation in Christ and leaving my old self behind as I publicly declare my faith in Jesus. Baptism was a fresh start. I thank God with all my heart for this opportunity. I’m no longer the same person I once was, and seeing that transformation means everything to me. I was able to leave behind my insecurities and negative thoughts through baptism."
3. " What touched me the most was seeing how many people gave their lives to Jesus, and that I was able to experience this powerful moment alongside so many others. Every single baptism was deeply emotional. I was especially thankful to see so many brothers and sisters from church being present and to have my own sister by my side. It brought me so much joy to share one of the most important days of my life with such amazing people".
These stories are living proof of God’s love, grace, and the power of saying "yes" to Him. Each person who stepped into the water left behind their past and stepped into a future filled with hope, healing, and purpose.
If you’ve been feeling that quiet tug in your soul, it’s time to stop running and come home.
Baptism is not just a religious act. It’s a declaration: "I’m His. I’m new. I’m free." It's where the old life ends and a new beginning in Christ starts. Don’t let fear stop you from the miracle waiting for you. Step into the water with faith. God is ready to begin the most beautiful chapter of your life.
