Theme: Experiencing the Unleashed Power of the Holy Spirit
30.05.2025

Focus Scriptures:
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV):"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"
Ephesians 1:3 (NIV):"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ."
Restoration of Identity
(2 Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 1:3-6)
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.
Beloved, scripture is clear that those of us who have been reconciled back to the Father are born again, born afresh in Christ Jesus, as totally new creatures through the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit. It is a mystery but it means that, our old moral and spiritual conditions are now in our past and by faith exchanged for a completely new life in Christ.
It pleased God to adopt us into His family and through this we received a new name and a brand new identity. Hallelujah!!!
So no matter how bad our past was, our new identity in Christ empowers us to live a new life of victory over sin, failure, defeat, hurt, brokenness, rejection, abuse, setbacks, denial, sickness, even death!!! And even if we fail or fall sometimes it does not cancel our adoption or new identity. No! Instead, we dust ourselves off and get back up again (Prov 24:16).
Prayer points
Thanksgiving and Praise - Give thanks with a grateful heart and praise God for your adoption. (Ephesians 1:5)
For healing - from past wounds and a broken identity. (Psalm 147:3)
Against behaviours and customs of this world - Reject false labels. Ask God to transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. (Romans 12:2)
Declare your identity in Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Intercede for others struggling with identity. (Galatians 2:20)
So henceforth, we embrace the character, identity and behaviour of our new family. Not as a timid people but rather a people living with intentionality as legitimate children of the King. We walk confidently by faith and not by sight, considering others in the faith not by how things appear outwardly but graciously and according to the finished work of Christ in them.
Amen and Amen
Blessings,
