Theme: Translating the Fire of the Unleashing Agenda into Our Lives and Our Churches
Scripture Reading: Daniel 6:1–28 Part 2
The Fire Must Form Something Around Us
We have already seen how Daniel’s relationship with God was not confined to his private prayer life. His upper-room experience formed something visible around him—excellence, integrity, wisdom, courage, influence, and faithfulness. Now let’s continue the journey.
1. Sometimes People Are Fasting and Praying for You Without You Knowing
After Daniel was thrown into the lions’ den, something very interesting happened. The king returned to his palace and spent the night fasting; his sleep went from him, and very early in the morning, he rose and went quickly to the lions’ den.
Think about this: the king cared about Daniel.
He was not serving the God of Daniel in the same way Daniel did, yet something about Daniel’s life had created respect and affection in him. Church, may God raise people like this around us—people in positions of influence who will remember us in difficult moments and stand with us when we need help.
This is another reason why excellence matters. When God gives you grace, people notice. When you consistently walk with integrity and serve faithfully, people notice. Sometimes you may not even know who is watching or praying for you because of the testimony your life has created.
1. The King Recognized Daniel’s God
Early in the morning, the king went to the lions’ den and cried out:
“Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?”
— Daniel 6:20
I love the way the king describes Daniel: “servant of the living God” and “whom you serve continually.”
Daniel’s relationship with God was so evident that even a pagan king could identify it.
Church, can people identify your God through your life? Can your colleagues, family, leaders, people you serve, and people you lead see something different in you—not simply because you tell them that you are a Christian, but because your life carries evidence of the God you serve?
This is what it means to translate the fire.
The fire inside you should eventually become visible around you.
1. The Lions Were Real, But So Was Daniel’s God
Daniel answered the king:
“My God sent his angel and shut the lions’ mouths, so that they have not hurt me.”
— Daniel 6:22
Daniel did not deny that the lions were there. The danger was real, the conspiracy was real, and the law was real, but Daniel’s God was greater.
Sometimes we think that having faith means we will never face a lions’ den. But Daniel had an excellent spirit, he was faithful, and he prayed consistently, yet he still ended up in the lions’ den.
Faithfulness does not mean the absence of trials.
Sometimes you can be doing everything right and still find yourself in a difficult situation. But the presence of the lions does not mean the absence of God. Daniel entered the den, but God was with him in the den.
The fire did not keep Daniel from entering the lions’ den, but the fire sustained him inside it.
Sometimes God does not prevent the trial; He proves Himself in the trial.
1. God Can Shut What Was Sent to Destroy You
Daniel said:
“My God sent his angel and shut the lions’ mouths.”
The same lions that were supposed to destroy Daniel became powerless before the authority of God.
Church, there are some things only God can shut. He can shut the mouth of accusation, silence voices that rise against His purposes, and close doors that were designed to destroy you. This is why we don’t have to spend our lives fighting everybody who speaks against us.
Sometimes you simply need to pray:
“Lord, You know the truth. Defend me Yourself.”
God knows how to defend His children.
1. Let God Deal With the Plans of the Enemy
When the king discovered what had happened, Daniel’s accusers were brought and thrown into the lions’ den.
We must be careful about how we apply this. As believers, we should not develop a desire for people’s destruction or rejoice in their suffering. Our confidence is not in revenge; our confidence is in God’s justice.
So when people rise against us without cause, we can pray:
“Lord, let every evil plan against my life be overturned. Let every false accusation be exposed. Let every scheme designed to destroy what You are building through me come to nothing. Let Your justice prevail, and let Your purpose for my life stand.”
We don’t need to become the judge. God knows how to defend His own.
1. Daniel Prospered Through Different Kingdoms
Now look at how the chapter ends:
“So Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus the Persian.”
— Daniel 6:28
This is remarkable. Daniel lived under different kings, governments, political environments, and leadership structures, but Daniel remained.
Every king that came, Daniel prospered.
Why?
Because Daniel’s source was never the king.
His source was God.
The king could change, the system could change, and the political environment could change, but Daniel’s God did not change.
This is a powerful lesson for us. Don’t build your identity around a government, employer, leader, organization, or system. God can prosper you in different environments because your source is not the environment.
Your source is God.
1. The Fire Must Work in Every Sphere
Daniel was not only effective in the prayer room. He was effective in government, administration, leadership, and difficult environments because what God was doing in him had become visible in the way he lived.
This is why we speak about translating the fire of the Unleashed Agenda into our lives, spheres, and the Church.
We must ask ourselves:
What is the fire forming around me?
Is it forming excellence in my workplace, integrity in my business, peace in my home, wisdom in my leadership, compassion in my relationships, discipline in my life, courage in my witness, and servants and disciples in the Church?
When the Holy Spirit is working in us, something should eventually become visible around us.
Fire in us must produce formation around us.
1. Don’t Reduce the Fire—Unleash It
And let me make this very clear: when we shout, pray, worship, speak in tongues, fast, lift our voices, and passionately seek God, that is not something we should minimize.
We need the fire. We need prayer, worship, the presence of the Holy Spirit, spiritual encounters, and passionate pursuit of God.
Don’t stop shouting. Don’t stop praying. Don’t stop worshipping. Don’t stop speaking in tongues. Don’t stop seeking God. 🔥
But after the encounter, ask yourself:
“What is this fire producing?”
We are not called to reduce the fire; we are called to unleash it. Let the fire produce excellence, integrity, discipline, love, courage, wisdom, service, Kingdom influence, discipleship, and transformation.
The fire must form something around us.
1. The Church Must Become a Place Where Fire Is Translated
And this brings us to the Church.
We want a Church that prays passionately, worships passionately, speaks in tongues, seeks God, fasts, and carries spiritual fire. But we also want that fire to produce something.
Let the fire produce better leaders, faithful servants, soul winners, disciples, excellence, generosity, holiness, compassion, and people who can be trusted. Let it produce Christians who carry the atmosphere of Christ into their workplaces, schools, families, businesses, and communities.
The Church should not only be a place where we receive fire; it should be a place where we are equipped to carry the fire.
From the altar to the marketplace, from the prayer room to the workplace, from Sunday to Monday, and from the upper room to every room.
That is the Unleashed Agenda.
1. The Unleashed Agenda Is About Translation
Daniel’s life gives us a beautiful picture of what an unleashed life looks like. His prayer life produced courage; his relationship with God produced excellence; his excellence produced influence; his integrity protected his testimony; his consistency created trust; and his faithfulness allowed him to prosper through different kingdoms.
Nothing about Daniel’s fire remained hidden. What God formed in him eventually influenced the world around him.
So don’t only ask, “Am I on fire?” Ask, “What is the fire forming around me?”
Can people see Christ in the way you work, lead, treat people, build your family, conduct your business, serve in the Church, and engage your community?
Because the goal is not simply to carry fire.
The goal is to translate the fire.
Conclusion
Daniel 6 teaches us that a person deeply rooted in God can influence environments that do not know God. Daniel was surrounded by pagan kings, political systems, opposition, jealousy, and danger, but none of these things could extinguish what God had placed inside him.
He maintained his upper room, and the upper room formed something around him. His prayer life became courage, his devotion became excellence, his excellence became influence, his integrity became a testimony, and his faithfulness became his preservation.
This is what we are talking about when we speak of Translating the Fire of the Unleashed Agenda into Our Lives, Spheres, and the Church.
What God starts in us must become visible through us.
The fire we experience in prayer, the fire we express in worship, and the fire we receive through the Holy Spirit must form something around us.
So, brothers and sisters, don’t reduce the fire. Unleash it.
Go deeper in prayer, worship, the Holy Spirit, and the Word, and then allow that fire to shape your life, influence your sphere, strengthen your Church, and touch the world around you.
Fire in us. Formation around us. Influence through us.
From the upper room to every room.
From encounter to transformation.
Let the fire be unleashed! 🔥

Prayer
1. An Excellent Spirit and a Faithful Life
Father, in the name of Jesus, give us an excellent spirit. Let the Holy Spirit produce excellence, integrity, wisdom, discipline, and faithfulness in every area of our lives. Let what You deposit in us become visible through us, so that our character, work, relationships, families, and service bring glory to Your name.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
Final Exhortation

And please continue reading Daniel for yourself. Don’t simply depend on my devotion. Read the Word. Slow down. Underline what speaks to you. Pray over it. Ask the Holy Spirit for revelation.
