Theme: Translating the Fire of the Unleashing Agenda into Our Lives and Our Churches
Scripture Reading: Daniel 11 & 12
INTRODUCTION
Before reading this devotion, please take time to read Daniel 11 and Daniel 12 for yourself. These chapters contain significant prophetic and historical detail, so this summary is meant to help us see the bigger picture and, most importantly, translate what we are reading into our lives and churches.
Read the chapters, pray over them, examine the Scriptures, and allow the Holy Spirit to speak through God’s Word.
1. Daniel 11 — When Prophecy Becomes History
Daniel 11 gives us a remarkable picture of the rise and fall of kingdoms, beginning with Persia and Greece and moving into the conflicts between the Ptolemaic kingdom of Egypt and the Seleucid kingdom of Syria, with Israel repeatedly caught in the middle.
The prophecy eventually focuses strongly on Antiochus IV Epiphanes, who persecuted the Jews, desecrated the Temple and stopped the daily sacrifices, contributing to the Maccabean revolt, when faithful Jews resisted the pressure to abandon their worship.
Daniel declares:
“The people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” — Daniel 11:32
This is where history becomes personal. The pressure may look different today, but the question remains: Will we remain faithful to God when the world around us is moving in another direction?
We may not bow before physical idols, but we can still compromise our convictions for acceptance, relationships, money, career, popularity, pleasure or worldly success. The real question is not simply, “Do I know about God?” but “Do I know my God?” Those who truly know Him can stand when others are falling.
This is what it means to translate the fire of the unleashed agenda: what God has revealed to us must become how we live, how we serve and how we build His Church.
2. Daniel 12 — From Earthly History to Eternity
Daniel 12 moves beyond earthly kingdoms into the end of the age, revealing great trouble, God’s deliverance, resurrection, judgment and eternal reward.
Daniel says:
“Many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake.” — Daniel 12:2
This is familiar to us as Christians because the New Testament develops the same hope. Paul writes:
“The dead in Christ shall rise first.” — 1 Thessalonians 4:16
He connects this resurrection with the coming of the Lord and “the trump of God.” What Daniel saw prophetically, the New Testament reveals more fully: death is not the end for those who belong to Christ; there will be a resurrection.
Therefore, we should not live merely for this world, its possessions, achievements, recognition or comfort. We live with eternity in view.
And if eternity is real, then our churches must not simply gather people; we must prepare people for eternity. Our preaching, discipleship, evangelism, prayer, worship and leadership must carry an eternal purpose.
3. Antiochus and the End-Time Picture
The latter part of Daniel 11, particularly verses 36–45, is interpreted differently. Some understand it as continuing to describe Antiochus IV, while many Christian interpreters see Antiochus as a historical picture or foreshadowing of a future Antichrist.
Jesus later referred to Daniel’s “abomination of desolation” when speaking about future events:
“When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet…” — Matthew 24:15
We should therefore avoid forcing every detail of Daniel into today’s headlines. Instead, we recognize the larger biblical pattern: rulers and systems may oppose God, but Christ ultimately triumphs.
The lesson for us is to remain spiritually awake. The unleashed agenda is not merely something we talk about; it must produce churches that are spiritually strong, discerning, evangelistic and prepared for the return of Christ.
4. Translating the Fire Into Our Lives and Churches
Daniel 11–12 is not merely calling us to understand prophecy; it is calling us to know God, stand firm, turn others toward righteousness and remain faithful to the end.
“They that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.” — Daniel 12:3
This is the fire we must translate.
In our lives: knowing God must become obedience, holiness, prayer, courage and faithfulness.
In our churches: revelation must become discipleship, evangelism, prayer, spiritual formation and a generation that knows God personally.
In our mission: we must not simply prepare ourselves for what is coming; we must help prepare others.
Daniel himself did not receive every answer, yet God’s final word to him was:
“Go thou thy way till the end be.” — Daniel 12:13
We may not understand everything God is doing, but we can continue walking, believing, serving and witnessing while keeping our fire burning and finishing our assignment.
5. A Transparent Note About Today’s Devotion
I want to be transparent about today’s study. For this particular devotion, I used ChatGPT as a research assistant to help gather, organize and compare historical information and different interpretations of Daniel 11 and 12 from various sources available online.
Therefore, a significant portion of the historical background and interpretive material is not personally researched or originally written by me. ChatGPT helped bring together information so that we could examine these chapters from both biblical and historical perspectives.
However, ChatGPT is not our authority, and neither is the internet. Everything must be tested against Scripture, and historical claims should be verified where necessary.
“Test all things; hold fast what is good.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:21
So please go back to Daniel 11 and 12 yourself, search the Scriptures, examine the historical evidence, pray and test the interpretations.
Our confidence is not in ChatGPT, research or human interpretation; our confidence is in the Word of God.
Prayer Points
1. Thanksgiving
Father, we thank You because You are sovereign over history, kingdoms and generations. Thank You that Your Word remains true and that, through Christ, we have the hope of resurrection and eternal life.
2. Deeper Knowledge of God
Lord, help us to truly know You, not merely know about You. Let our knowledge of You produce spiritual strength, courage, obedience and the grace to do exploits for Your Kingdom.
3. Translating the Fire
Father, help us translate the fire of the unleashed agenda into our lives and churches. Let revelation become obedience, prayer, holiness, evangelism, discipleship and practical Kingdom action.
4. Faithfulness in the Last Days
Holy Spirit, keep us spiritually awake and give us discernment to stand without compromise amid the pressures of this generation. Prepare our churches to remain faithful and ready for the return of Christ.
5. Turning Many to Righteousness
Lord, use us to turn many to righteousness. Make our lives and churches instruments of salvation, revival and transformation, raising a generation that knows You and will remain faithful until the end.
A Journey Completed — A New Book Begins
With Daniel 11 & 12, we come to the end of our journey through the Book of Daniel.
What a journey it has been—from Daniel purposing in his heart, to the fiery furnace, the lions’ den, the rise and fall of kingdoms, prophetic visions, spiritual warfare and finally the revelations concerning the end of the age.
Through it all, one message has remained clear:
Know your God. Stand firm. Remain faithful. Translate the fire.
God willing, on Monday, we will begin a new book and continue this journey of translating the fire of the unleashed agenda into our lives and churches.
Come prepared, hungry and expectant for what God will reveal to us next.
“Go thou thy way till the end be.” — Daniel 12:13

Daniel 11:32 really spoke to me!
*It is not simply about knowing about God, but about knowing God personally.*
Daniel 11 describes a time of pressure, deception, and compromise. Yet in the middle of it all, those who truly know their God remain strong. The deeper our relationship with God becomes, the less circumstances can shake our faith.
And that is a thing we see throughout the whole book of Daniel🙌
