It Starts in Your Room
Devotion by Pastor Joseph Antwi
Theme: From Upper Room to Every Room
Read: Take your Time to read through Romans 11-21
Introduction:
I'm honored to walk with you into the heart of God’s mission—starting in the Upper Room and reaching every room around us.
Before you go further, take time to read Romans 10:14–21 and Acts 1:8 slowly. Let the words speak to your spirit. This isn’t just theology—it’s your calling.
The Gospel Still Has Power
Romans 10:14 is a simple but convicting question:
“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?” — Romans 10:14 (NKJV)
Salvation doesn’t begin with belief—it begins with someone willing to speak. You are that someone.
John Knox, a man of prayer and passion, once cried, “Give me Scotland, or I die!” God answered with revival. It only took one man, surrendered and bold, to shake a nation. Today, He’s still using ordinary people to carry the gospel into homes, offices, schools, and even protests.
But how often do we hesitate?Shame. Fear. Distraction.Meanwhile, souls hang in the balance.
Every Soul Matters
Hell is not a metaphor. It’s real—and eternal.
It’s not enough to be grateful we’re saved; we must be burdened that others are not. Many around you are kind, humble, and spiritually hungry—they're just waiting for someone to offer them Jesus.
Don’t withhold Him. Don’t silence your story.
A Bold Testimony
In 2020, during a Black Lives Matter protest in Zurich, I stood with two brothers among over 5,000 people. With shaking hands and a megaphone, we preached the gospel.
I was scared. But then I remembered: I don’t save people. The Holy Spirit does.
Our job is to go.
To our surprise, people cried. Some gave their lives to Jesus—right there in the streets. That day reminded me: boldness opens hearts. The gospel still carries power.
From Upper Room to Every Room
You don’t need a stage to preach—just a surrendered heart.
Wherever you are—a classroom, boardroom, living room, or street corner—God wants to use you. Ask Him who’s ready, and when He shows you, don’t delay.
Reflection Questions:
Who in your life needs to hear the gospel right now?
What’s stopping you from speaking—fear, shame, uncertainty?
Have you asked the Holy Spirit to go before you and give you boldness?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for trusting me with Your gospel. Forgive me for the times I’ve stayed silent.Give me eyes to see the people around me who are ready for You.Give me boldness, and fill me with love. Let my cry be:“Give me my city, or I die.”Holy Spirit, go before me. Use me to bring Jesus into every room You send me into.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
With love,
Pastor Joseph Antwi
