Before Reading This Devotion:
Please open your Bible to Romans 1:18–32, read it carefully, take notes, and highlight anything that stands out. Let the Word speak directly to your heart before you continue.
⸻
Romans 1:18–32 is a sobering and powerful passage. It shows how God’s wrath is revealed from heaven against the ongoing rebellion of people who suppress His truth in unrighteousness. Despite clear evidence of God’s existence and nature through creation, many choose not to glorify Him, nor be thankful.
Paul reveals how when people stubbornly reject God, He gives them over to their own lusts and desires. Women and men begin to desire each other unnaturally—engaging in same-sex relations. This isn’t just a cultural issue—it’s spiritual. It shows what happens when the human heart rejects God’s truth and glorifies self.
What’s more shocking is that not only those who commit these acts, but also those who support or approve of such actions, fall under the same judgment (v.32). Today, society celebrates what God condemns. But we must remember: God’s standard of righteousness and justice has not changed.
This passage calls us to check our hearts: Are we being influenced by rebellion? Are we trying to fit in with a world that celebrates sin? If Jesus has washed us with His blood, let’s honor that sacrifice by walking in truth, purity, and boldness.
⸻
Reflection Questions:
• Am I silent when I should speak truth?
• Have I supported or excused things God clearly calls unrighteous?
• Is my life honoring the sacrifice Jesus made for me?
⸻
Prayer:
Father, thank You for truth. Help me to live boldly and unashamed of the gospel. Give me grace to walk in holiness and reject compromise. May I never be found among those who support rebellion, but among those who honor Your Word. Thank You for Jesus. Thank You for the cross. In His name I pray, Amen.
⸻
A Pastor’s Blessing:
As Paul wrote in Romans 1:11 – “For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established,” — I also pray, as your pastor, by the grace of God and under His leadership, that I may impart to you spiritual gifts that will help you remain strong, consistent, and loyal to your faith in Christ.
Let’s honor the truth. Let’s walk worthy of the gospel.
