New Series Launch: Living Our Christian Life in the Public Sphere

👋🏽 Introduction

Hello family, we are back again with our daily devotionals. I’m so happy to go on this journey with you once more.

As we come out of our fasting week, it’s important we don’t lose what we’ve already learned. Let’s take this time to recap Romans chapters 15 and 16—the final part of Paul’s powerful letter to the Roman church.

In this devotional, we climax the message “From the Upper Room to Every Room”—a reminder that our walk with God isn’t just private and personal, but public and visible.

Our next series begins today: Living Our Christian Life in the Public Sphere.

Let’s prepare to take our faith from the secret place to the streets, from devotion to demonstration.

🔥 Romans 15: From the Upper Room to Every Room

1. Strength That Serves

📖 “We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves.” — Romans 15:1

➤ Maturity in Christ isn’t shown by how much you know, but by how well you carry others. True strength sacrifices for the weak.

📝 Reflect:

• Am I using my spiritual strength to serve others—or to promote myself?

• Do I lift others up or look down on those still growing?

2. Unity That Reflects Christ

📖 “May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had…” — Romans 15:5

➤ Unity doesn’t just happen; it’s the result of intentional love and mutual submission. Christlike unity is one of the strongest witnesses to the world.

🛐 Prayer:

“Lord, give me the heart of Christ—to love patiently, to unify intentionally, and to carry people with grace.”

3. Trust That Overflows with Peace

📖 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him…” — Romans 15:13

➤ Peace is the product of trust. When your trust is deep, your joy is full and your peace is unshakable.

📝 Ask:

• Is my peace anchored in God or in my circumstances?

• Am I truly trusting God in this season?

4. Know Your Lane – Stay in Your Assignment

📖 “It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known…” — Romans 15:20

📖 “Go and make disciples of all nations…” — Matthew 28:19

➤ Knowing your assignment eliminates the distraction of comparison.

As FCC / LCC family, one of our clearest callings is this:

To win souls and baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We are ambassadors of love—not chasing popularity or performance, but carrying God’s burden to see Basel saved and the gospel reach every corner of Switzerland and beyond.

As your pastor, my vision is not money, fame, or applause—but souls. I invite you into this holy recruitment:

Let’s take this job opportunity from heaven and walk as His ambassadors.

5. A Generous Spirit

📖 “For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a contribution for the poor… they were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them.” — Romans 15:26–27

➤ True Christianity touches not only our hearts but our hands and wallets.

Paul teaches that if we receive spiritual food, we must honor it with material support.

🙇🏽 Personal Testimony:

I learned as a young believer to give not out of pressure, but from honor. That decision—though simple—opened doors I know were tied to obedience.

Honor opens doors that hustle never can.

Romans 16: Will You Be Remembered?

Paul closes this powerful letter by doing something deeply personal: he begins to name names—those who served, supported, and sacrificed alongside him.

He doesn’t remember the famous—he remembers the faithful.

6. Faithful Helpers Are Remembered

📖 “Greet Priscilla and Aquila… They risked their lives for me.” — Romans 16:3–4

📖 “I commend to you our sister Phoebe…” — Romans 16:1

➤ These men and women weren’t spotlight seekers—they were sacrificial servants.

Their names are written in Scripture because their deeds were written in heaven first.

📝 Reflect:

• Will I be remembered for my loyalty to Christ and His church?

• Am I a helper to my pastor and leaders—or just a consumer?

7. Avoid Divisive People

📖 “Watch out for people who cause divisions and upset people’s faith… Stay away from them.” — Romans 16:17

➤ Paul is clear: division is a spiritual danger.

Rebellious spirits often come in “spiritual” clothing—but their fruit is chaos, gossip, and confusion.

⚠ If someone constantly critiques, stirs offense, or dishonors leadership—distance yourself. Protect your peace and guard your faith.

8. Protect Your Mind and Peace

📖 “I want you to be wise in doing right and stay innocent of any wrong.” — Romans 16:19

➤ Some relationships carry spiritual heaviness. If someone consistently drains your joy or distracts your focus—they may not be sent by God.

Be wise. Be sensitive. Don’t carry what God hasn’t assigned you to.

9. God Sees, God Rewards

📖 “The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.” — Romans 16:20

➤ Don’t be discouraged. Your service is not in vain.

Every risk, prayer, and offering has been seen by God—and victory is coming.

🙏🏽 Final Prayer

Lord, I want to be remembered as one who served You with loyalty, love, and purity.

Let me not just receive—but release.

Let me not just pray in the Upper Room—but live boldly in every room of my life.

Make me an ambassador of Your Kingdom in Basel, Switzerland, and beyond.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

🧠 Takeaway Questions

• Have I identified my spiritual lane and embraced it fully?

• Who is feeding me spiritually that I haven’t honored materially?

• Am I serving in my church—or sitting on the sidelines?

• Would I be remembered by my leaders as faithful?
