All Have Sinned—But Grace Abounds
Devotion by Pastor Joseph Antwi
Scripture:
Romans 3:23-24 : “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”
⸻
Devotion:
Romans 3 reminds us of a sobering truth: we have all sinned. No one is righteous in themselves—not by heritage, not by good deeds, and certainly not by the law. Sin made us fall short of God’s glory. But the same chapter introduces the heart of the Gospel: though we all fall, grace abounds.
We are justified freely—not by performance, but by faith in Jesus Christ. And because faith is what justifies us, it is also what the enemy targets most. In Luke 22:31-32, Jesus warned Peter: “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail.”
Jesus didn’t pray against Satan’s attack; He prayed for Peter’s faith. Why? Because faith is the believer’s greatest gift. The devil knows that once your faith is shaken, your confidence, your worship, your obedience, and your identity begin to unravel. He doesn’t always stop us by physical barriers—he often works through doubt and subtle distractions.
As summer approaches, many believers tend to relax spiritually. They enjoy the sun, travel more, and sometimes grow distant in prayer, devotion, and fellowship. But remember this: Satan does not take a summer break. If we are justified by faith and not by the law, then we must hold tightly to the very thing that saved us.
Don’t let the season lower your standard. Grace is not seasonal. Stay rooted. Stay watchful. All have sinned—but grace still abounds. And that grace is accessed by faith.
⸻
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your grace that meets us in our failure and lifts us into righteousness. Strengthen my faith in this season. Help me to remain steadfast and alert. I declare that my faith will not fail. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
⸻
Action Step:
Take inventory of your spiritual life. Are you becoming casual in this season? Reignite your faith through intentional prayer, Word study, and consistent fellowship. Grace is free—but faith must be guarded.
