Introduction

Congratulations on completing Day 1 of our fasting journey 🎉

As we reflected yesterday, both Elder Patrick (Zurich Central) and District Pastor Ernest (Zurich City Church) did justice to the theme by praying us intentionally into our next level. We thank God for such leadership and spiritual covering.

As you continue fasting, understand this clearly: fasting positions you spiritually for maturity (Hebrews 5:14). At the same time, your body may begin to react. You may crave foods you would normally not desire, feel tired, weak, or even uncomfortable. This is not strange. It is often a sign that the flesh is resisting and that there is spiritual opposition to what God is doing (Galatians 5:17).

Scripture reminds us that when Jesus finished fasting forty days and nights, He was tempted by the devil (Matthew 4:1–3). Fasting does not eliminate temptation—it exposes it. For some, pressure may come through family, marriage, children, or the workplace. But remember this: Jesus did not overcome temptation merely because He fasted or prayed; He overcame because the Word of God was alive in Him. Each temptation was answered with, “It is written” (Matthew 4:4, 7, 10).

This is a strong call for us all:

Do not only read the Bible during this fast—study it (2 Timothy 2:15). Do not only pray—pray in alignment with the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:26). When temptation comes, respond by the Word, not by emotions (Psalm 119:11; Ephesians 6:17).

Are you ready to continue this journey with us?

I am more than ready—and I believe you are too. I will suggest to join the prayer Zoom link 15 minutes earlier to prepare both mentally and spiritually for the time of prayer.

As you read today’s devotion, remember that we have daily prayer lunches (except weekends) and prayer evenings. Stay connected. Stay aligned. Stay spiritually alert.

Devotional Reflection

Living for God in a secular world is not about withdrawal—it is about distinction. Daniel did not influence Babylon by fighting the system; he influenced it by excelling within it without compromise. The Bible says an “excellent spirit” was found in him (Daniel 6:3). His faith was visible in his conduct, integrity, and consistency, so much so that his enemies found no fault in him—except concerning his God (Daniel 6:4–5).

In the same way, God is raising believers today who will shine within national systems—government, education, media, business, and culture—without losing their spiritual identity. Philippians 2:15 reminds us that we are called to shine as lights “in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation.” Darkness is not an excuse for compromise; it is the environment where light is most effective.

Isaiah 60:1–3 declares that while darkness covers the earth, the glory of the Lord rises upon His people, and nations are drawn to that light. This shows us that influence is not first positional—it is spiritual and moral. When Christ is clearly revealed through our integrity, excellence, and righteousness, nations take notice.

God’s agenda is bigger than individual breakthrough; He desires the elevation of nations. Righteousness exalts a nation (Proverbs 14:34), and believers are God’s chosen instruments to release that righteousness. As salt preserves and light reveals, our conduct must silence moral decay without arrogance and point society back to God with clarity and courage (Matthew 5:13–16).

You are not where you are by accident. Like Esther, you are positioned “for such a time as this” (Esther 4:14). Through your life, God wants to establish kingdom values in national institutions and reveal Christ to your generation.

Leadership Prayer

We lift up our National Head and District Pastors, and their families.

Release wisdom, courage, discernment, and spiritual authority upon them.

Let the Spirit of the Lord—wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, and the fear of the Lord—rest upon them.

(Proverbs 11:14; Isaiah 11:2–3)

Declaration

I am positioned for influence. I live by the Word, walk in righteousness, and shine as God’s light in my nation. Through my life, Christ is revealed, and my nation is elevated. Amen.
