💬 Introduction
Hello Church, welcome to Day 2 of our fast. Congratulations to you!
I sense there is a high spiritual weight in the atmosphere concerning our fasting — and the dominion, powers, and principalities that fight against the Kingdom of God and against us (Ephesians 6:12).
Today, we are sealing the Kingdom of God theme through fasting. One of the vital principles of the Kingdom is fasting and prayer (Matthew 6:16–18).
While the world and the kingdom of darkness have their rituals and ceremonies for destruction, our own ceremonies are fasting and prayer — ceremonies of consecration and alignment with Heaven’s order (Joel 2:15–16).
In the book of Ezra, a fast was proclaimed, and the Lord heard their cry (Ezra 8:23).
Fasting unveils us from the natural realm to the supernatural realm.
Jesus said, “This kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting” (Matthew 17:21).
Fasting breaks addictions and strongholds (Isaiah 58:6). It draws us closer to God and renews our spiritual sensitivity (James 4:8).
Maybe you are struggling with discipline, distraction, or even social media addiction — fasting is one of your greatest spiritual weapons (1 Corinthians 9:27).
Jesus taught us not to appear sorrowful or weary when fasting: “When you fast, anoint your head and wash your face” (Matthew 6:17–18).
In other words, stay joyful and radiant — because your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
During fasting, temptation often rises — hunger, weakness, or even emotional pressure. But stand firm (Galatians 6:9).
Remember, Jesus was tempted after fasting forty days and forty nights (Matthew 4:1–3). If He overcame, we can also overcome.
Sometimes, fasting exposes spiritual warfare — sudden misunderstandings, uneasiness, or strange distractions — but these are signs that the pushbacks are being exposed and resisted.
The theme of this fast is Pushing the Pushbacks — confronting every force attempting to push us away from God’s intended identity and destiny (Isaiah 59:19).
Make this fasting your personal journey.
Pray for the Church. Pray for your pastor and his family.
When the shepherd is struck, the sheep scatter (Zechariah 13:7).
That is why we must cover our leaders in prayer — for strength, protection, and divine preservation (Hebrews 13:17; 1 Timothy 2:1–2).
God bless you for standing in the gap (Ezekiel 22:30).
Now, open your physical Bibles, highlight the Scriptures, and let’s go into today’s devotion and prayer focus.
📅 See you at the Prayer Lunch and Evening Prayer — all on Zoom.
If you know a friend who has backslidden or fallen behind, share this and encourage them in the Lord (Galatians 6:1–2).
