Introduction
Church, congratulations on reaching Day 6 of our fasting and prayers. We have seen the hunger, the passion, and the desire of many people pressing into God, especially as we prepare ourselves toward the middle of the year. It is so important that we seek the face of the Lord, wait upon Him, recharge our spiritual batteries, and renew our strength.
The Bible says:
“Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”
— Isaiah 40:30–31 (NKJV)
This renewing of strength comes through the power and refreshing of the Holy Spirit.
Today, we are not asking for another Pentecost experience as though the Holy Spirit has not yet come. The Holy Spirit is already here and already lives in us. What we are asking for is the grace to live in the reality of the Pentecost experience daily.
If the Church is not functioning according to the power and operation of the Holy Spirit, then we must ask ourselves: what baptism are we truly living by? Without the gifts of the Spirit actively operating, how do we build people into maturity and into the knowledge of the grace of God?
Yesterday, we heard our Apostle boldly preach the fruit of the Spirit, but today we understand that the gifts of the Spirit must also operate in our lives. The gifts we walk in should compel us toward maturity and produce the right fruit within us.
Today, we are coming before Jesus Christ—the One who gives gifts unto men. The Bible says:
“When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men.”
— Ephesians 4:8 (NKJV)
If you feel you have no gift, remember that a gift already lies within you. That is why Paul told Timothy to stir up the gift of God inside him. Today, we pray that every dormant gift in us shall come alive again.
Yes, there are fake prophets, fake miracles, and false ministers, but we must not become so focused on the counterfeit that we reject the original move of God. When the Church ignores the genuine workings of the Holy Spirit, the Church becomes powerless and spiritually dry.
We must hunger for the true move of the Spirit, hunger for truth, and hunger for the reality of God’s presence. Only then can we truly relive the Pentecost experience in our generation, where our churches, marriages, homes, and personal lives flourish just as they did in the early Church.
Now, let us go into the prayer points.
