Focus Scriptures:
John 15:8 (NIV) – "This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples."
Genesis 1:28 (NIV) – "God blessed them and said to them, 'Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.'"
Fruitfulness in Life and Ministry
(John 15:8, Genesis 1:28)
Beloved, congratulations on reaching Day 8 — the final stretch of our 14-day journey of fasting and prayer! All glory, honor, and praise to our King of Kings for the powerful time of awakening, reassurance, and spiritual renewal we’ve experienced so far.
From the very beginning, God embedded within us the seed of fruitfulness. Created in His image and likeness, we were not just blessed — we were commissioned to be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth, subdue it, and walk in dominion (Genesis 1:28). This divine mandate remains active over our lives today.
As followers of Christ who abide in Him and bear His name, Jesus has made it clear that our fruitfulness glorifies the Father and proves our discipleship (John 15:8). God desires that we flourish — not just spiritually, but in every area of our lives and ministry. And because He is a loving Father, He equips us with everything we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3).
However, fruitfulness doesn't exempt us from pruning. In John 15:2, Jesus tells us that every fruitful branch will be pruned so it can bear even more fruit. That means seasons of discomfort or challenge may actually be signs of God's loving hand at work, preparing us for greater growth and impact.
As we fast and pray today, let us examine ourselves. Where are we bearing fruit? Where might we be unfruitful or barren? Are we in a pruning season? If so, take heart — the Gardener is preparing you for abundance.
Prayer Points
Thanksgiving: Praise the God of fruitfulness. Thank Him for the results and spiritual fruits of this fast. (John 15:5)
Break Barrenness: Declare the breaking of barrenness in every area of life — spiritually, emotionally, relationally, and materially. (Genesis 1:28)
Strategic Wisdom: Ask God for divine strategies to multiply your Kingdom impact and influence. (Proverbs 8:12)
Abundant Fruit: Pray that your life bears much fruit that glorifies the Father. (John 15:8)
Flourishing Life: Declare flourishing in all your endeavors — in family, ministry, business, and calling. (Psalm 92:12-14)
Brothers and sisters, this is your season to bloom! You are anointed for fruitfulness, equipped for dominion, and called to leave a legacy of impact in life and ministry. Walk boldly and expectantly into God’s abundance.
Amen and Amen.
Blessings,
Deaconess Ruth Ahiabor
