DEVOTION
Beloved Church, Shalom!
As we begin these three days of fasting and prayer at the end of the ninth month, we come before God with one major cry:
“LORD, GIVE ME A NEW DIRECTION!”
The ninth month brings us into a prophetic picture of birth, completion and bringing forth. We have journeyed through the year carrying prayers, dreams, expectations and things we have been trusting God to do. Some of us have been praying since January. Some have been waiting for breakthroughs in our families, marriages, careers, ministries, finances and personal destiny. Some are carrying visions and promises that only God knows.
But today, we come before God believing that what has been conceived in prayer can be brought forth by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Isaiah 43:19 says:
“I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun!”
God is saying, “Do you see it?”
Sometimes God has already started something, but we have not recognized it. We may be asking God for a new direction while continuing to look backward. We may be praying for a new season while holding on to the old season. We may be asking for new relationships while refusing to release relationships that are no longer part of His purpose. We may be asking for a new career while being afraid to move when God gives direction.
Therefore, Day 1 is about spiritual eyes and spiritual ears.
Lord, help me to see what You are doing.
We need discernment to know what God is beginning. We need wisdom to recognize His voice. We need understanding to know when a season has changed. We need courage to follow His direction.
Psalm 32:8 says:
“The LORD says, ‘I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.’”
God has a pathway for your life. There is a direction He wants you to take. There are things He wants to start, things He wants to birth, things He wants to establish and things He wants you to leave behind.
A NEW WAVE
As we pray today, let us ask God for a new wave of prayer, fasting, worship, the prophetic, discernment, wisdom, understanding, faith, holiness and hunger for His presence. May God start something new in us that we have never experienced before. May this new beginning touch every area of our lives—our marriages, families, careers, ministries, relationships, finances and assignments.
“LORD, START SOMETHING NEW IN ME.”
🙏 DAY 1 — PRAYER POINTS
1. WORSHIP & THANKSGIVING
Thank God for bringing you from January to this ninth month. Thank Him for His protection, provision, grace, answered prayers and even the prayers that are still waiting for manifestation.
Prayer:
Father, I thank You for Your faithfulness throughout this year. Thank You for sustaining me and bringing me this far. I give You all the glory for what You have done and for what You are about to do, in Jesus’ Name.
2. LORD, GIVE ME A NEW DIRECTION
Proverbs 3:5–6; Psalm 32:8
Pray for clear direction concerning your life. Ask God to guide your decisions concerning marriage, family, career, ministry, relationships, finances and destiny.
Prayer:
Father, direct my steps. Let me not walk according to confusion, emotions or human pressure. Let Your Spirit lead me into the pathway You have prepared for me.
3. GIVE ME DISCERNMENT TO SEE WHAT YOU ARE DOING
Isaiah 43:19; 1 Corinthians 2:12
Pray for spiritual eyes to recognize God’s activity in your life. Ask God to help you distinguish between God’s direction, your own desires, human pressure and distractions.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, open my spiritual eyes. Help me recognize what God is beginning in my life. Give me discernment to know what to embrace, what to release and where to move.
4. A NEW WAVE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
Zechariah 4:6; Acts 2:17
Pray for a fresh work of the Holy Spirit and a new dimension of prayer, fasting, prophetic sensitivity, wisdom, understanding, faith and spiritual hunger.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, breathe upon me again. Start something new in my spiritual life. Give me a deeper hunger for Your presence and a greater sensitivity to Your voice. Let a new wave of Your Spirit come upon me.
5. BRING FORTH WHAT I HAVE BEEN CARRYING
Isaiah 66:9; Romans 8:26
Bring before God the things you have been praying about from January until now—your dreams, expectations, family needs, ministry vision, career desires and personal prayers.
Prayer:
Father, I bring before You everything I have carried in prayer this year. By the power of the Holy Spirit, bring forth what You have ordained for my life. Let nothing You have planted in me remain dormant.
6. NEW BEGINNINGS IN EVERY AREA OF MY LIFE
2 Corinthians 5:17; Isaiah 43:19
Pray for a new beginning in your spiritual life, marriage, family, career, business, ministry, relationships, finances, calling and purpose.
Prayer:
Lord, begin something new in my life. Let there be a new beginning where I have experienced stagnation. Let new opportunities, new relationships, new wisdom, new ideas and new doors come according to Your will.
7. DELÉMONT CITY CHURCH & LOVE CITY CHURCH BADEN
1 Corinthians 16:9
“There is a wide-open door for a great work here, although many oppose me.”
Pray for the establishment and launching of Delémont City Church and Love City Church Baden. Pray for souls, workers, leaders, finances, resources, venues, evangelism, discipleship, favor and spiritual strength.
Prayer:
Father, we commit Delémont City Church and Love City Church Baden into Your hands. Birth these assignments by the power of the Holy Spirit. Open every necessary door, provide every resource and raise the people You have appointed. Let these new territories become places of salvation, prayer, discipleship and Kingdom influence.
8. PRESERVATION OF PASTOR JOSEPH, LADY ANITA & THE LEADERSHIP
Psalm 121:7–8; Isaiah 54:17
Pray for Pastor Joseph and Lady Anita, their family and the entire leadership. Ask God to hold them, preserve them, strengthen them and protect them as they carry the assignment.
Prayer:
Father, preserve Pastor Joseph, Lady Anita, their family and the entire leadership. Hold us firmly in Your hands. Protect us from every attack and every scheme of the enemy. Give us wisdom, strength, unity, grace and fresh oil for the assignment. May we finish what You have entrusted to us.
🔥 DAY 1 DECLARATION
I receive NEW DIRECTION! My spiritual eyes are open. My ears are sensitive to the Holy Spirit. I will recognize what God is doing. A new wave is coming upon my spiritual life. A new beginning is coming into my family, marriage, career and calling. What God has conceived in me shall be brought forth according to His will. I am entering a NEW DIRECTION! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
