Day 2: Breaking Grounds by Launching into the Deep

🌿 Introduction

Beloved in Christ,

Grace and peace be unto you in the mighty name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

I warmly welcome you to Day 2 of our Three Days of Fasting and Prayer under the prophetic theme:

BREAKING GROUNDS

Yesterday, we reflected on God’s command to Israel in Deuteronomy 1:6–8, where He declared, “You have dwelt long enough at this mountain.” We learned that before God introduces us to new territories, He first calls us to leave behind places of comfort, complacency, fear, stagnation, and limitation. Every new beginning starts with a decision to obey God’s voice.

Today, we move from leaving the mountain to launching into the deep.

The Christian life is never meant to be lived in shallow waters. God continually calls His people to deeper levels of faith, deeper intimacy with Him, deeper commitment to His Kingdom, and greater dependence upon His power.

Our Scripture today takes us to the shores of the Sea of Galilee.

Simon Peter and his partners had laboured throughout the entire night. They were not amateurs; they were experienced fishermen. They knew the lake, understood the seasons, and had mastered their profession. Yet despite all their expertise, they caught absolutely nothing.

Imagine their disappointment.

Their strength was exhausted.

Their hopes were gone.

They had already washed their nets, convinced that the opportunity had passed.

Then Jesus stepped into Peter’s boat.

After teaching the crowd, Jesus looked at Peter and gave him an instruction that challenged both his experience and his natural reasoning.

“Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”

Peter could have argued. He could have relied on his years of experience. He could have explained why fishing during the daytime would never work.

Instead, he responded with one of the greatest statements of faith recorded in Scripture:

“Nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” (Luke 5:5)

Church, breakthrough begins where obedience starts.

Peter’s miracle was not produced by his experience. It was produced by his obedience to the voice of Jesus.

Many of us desire greater breakthroughs, but we are reluctant to move beyond what is familiar. God is calling us into deeper waters.

The deep represents greater faith.

The deep represents complete dependence upon God.

The deep represents leaving comfort behind.

The deep represents trusting God’s Word above human understanding.

Many miracles are waiting in the deep.

Many breakthroughs are waiting in the deep.

Many answers to prayer are waiting in the deep.

The question is not whether Jesus is able to perform the miracle; the question is whether we are willing to obey His instruction.

As individuals, perhaps God is calling you into deeper prayer, greater holiness, greater generosity, deeper study of His Word, or greater commitment to His work.

Perhaps He is calling you to trust Him concerning your marriage, your family, your career, your education, your business, or your ministry.

As the Church of Pentecost in Switzerland, we also believe God is calling us into deeper waters. He is calling us to greater evangelism, stronger discipleship, church planting, leadership development, and Kingdom expansion. The harvest before us is great, but it requires a people who are willing to launch into the deep.

Today, let us ask God to give us courageous faith. May we never allow fear, disappointment, or past failures to keep us on the shoreline. May we obey His voice completely, knowing that on the other side of obedience lies our miracle.

Now, let us lift our voices in prayer.

* Pray for a heart that is sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit.

* Ask God to remove fear, doubt, and unbelief that hinder complete obedience.

* Pray for the courage to trust God’s Word above human reasoning and personal experience.

* Pray for divine favour and breakthroughs in careers, businesses, education, and employment. Ask the Lord to open new doors, grant promotions, and provide jobs for those seeking employment.

* Pray for healing, unity, peace, and restoration in every family. Commit every marriage and relationship into God’s hands, asking Him to strengthen homes, restore broken relationships, and fill every household with His love and presence.

* Pray for those trusting God for children, life partners, healing, financial provision, direction, or restoration, that this season of breaking new grounds will become their season of divine visitation.

* Pray for a fresh passion for evangelism throughout every Church of Pentecost assembly in Switzerland.

* Ask God to grant us new assemblies, new church buildings, open doors in new cantons, and supernatural growth throughout the nation.

* Pray that the multicultural vision of the Church of Pentecost in Switzerland will continue to flourish, reaching people from every nation, language, and background.

5. Fresh Fire and Empowerment of the Holy Spirit

* Pray for a fresh baptism and empowerment of the Holy Spirit upon every believer.

* Ask God to stir up every spiritual gift and ignite a fresh passion for His Kingdom.

* Pray that every member of the Church will remain spiritually fervent, fruitful, and effective in advancing the Gospel.

🔥 Declaration

I choose to launch into the deep.

I will obey God’s voice above my own understanding.

Every empty net in my life shall overflow.

Every season of fruitlessness is coming to an end.

My family shall flourish.

My career shall advance.

My marriage shall be strengthened.

My relationships shall be restored.

The Church of Pentecost in Switzerland shall launch into deeper waters and reap a great harvest of souls.

This month, I shall break new grounds for the glory of God.

In the mighty Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

📖 Daily Charge

There are blessings that cannot be found in shallow waters.

Peter’s greatest miracle came after he chose to obey the voice of Jesus, even when it contradicted his experience. Likewise, God is inviting us beyond the familiar into a place where His power can be revealed in extraordinary ways.

Do not allow yesterday’s disappointments to determine tomorrow’s possibilities.

Launch into the deep. Trust His Word. Expect the miraculous.
