Prayer of the Day
Heavenly Father,
Thank You that I do not have to live in fear. Help me to trust in Your presence, Your protection, and Your promises. May I walk in boldness, knowing that You are with me in every situation.
In Jesus’ name,Amen.
Do Not Be Afraid
Fear is a natural human emotion, but God repeatedly calls us to live by faith, not fear. While some fears protect us from danger, many hold us back from experiencing the fullness of life that God intends.
Each of today’s passages teaches us how to overcome fear by trusting in God’s presence, power, and love.
Scriptural Foundations for Overcoming Fear
1. No Fear of Harm
Read: Proverbs 1:20–33
Key Message: Wisdom calls us to listen to God rather than be ruled by fear. When we choose to fear the Lord—to revere and trust Him—we can live in safety, free from the fear of harm (v.33).
God’s Response: He promises to guide and protect those who seek Him. Rejecting His wisdom leads to distress, but trusting Him brings peace.
Application: Choose to listen to God’s wisdom rather than fear the unknown. When you walk in His ways, you can rest in His protection.
2. No Fear of People
Read: Matthew 10:1–31
Key Message: Jesus told His disciples three times, “Do not be afraid” (vv.26, 28, 31). He reminded them that God values them deeply and that fear should never stop them from fulfilling their mission.
God’s Response: He reassures us that no harm can touch us outside His will, and His Spirit will give us the right words when we face opposition.
Application: Do not let the fear of people or rejection stop you from following Jesus. If God is for you, nothing can stand against you.
3. No Fear of Death
Read: Genesis 25:1–26:35
Key Message: Isaac, like his father Abraham, struggled with fear—especially regarding his safety (26:7). Yet, God reassured him: “Do not be afraid, for I am with you” (v.24).
God’s Response: His presence removes all fear. Despite Isaac’s struggles, God remained faithful and blessed him abundantly.
Application: When fear arises, remember that God is always with you. His presence is your greatest security.
Overall Takeaway
Fear is defeated when we trust in God. He calls us to listen to His wisdom, stand firm in our faith, and rely on His presence.
May we live with confidence, knowing that in Christ, we have nothing to fear.
