DAY 13 – Fasting & Prayer

17. January 2026

Devotion by Reverend Joseph Antwi

Theme: The Godly Home (Families of Nations Restored)

Key Scriptures: Malachi 4:5–6 | Joshua 24:15 | Psalm 127:1 (NKJV)

Introduction

One of the most important and foundational tenets of The Church of Pentecost is our unwavering belief in marriage and family life. This was God’s original design for humanity from the beginning. Scripture declares, “Male and female He created them”—and in that divine order, God had family in mind.

Marriage, as instituted by God, is the covenantal union between a male and a female, blessed by God for fruitfulness, multiplication, and stewardship. “And God said to them, be fruitful and multiply” (Genesis 1:28). Through godly families, God builds nations, raises generations, and supplies the labour, leadership, and values that make communities stable and self-sustaining.

Godly families produce godliness and righteousness—not only in the home, but also in government, workplaces, schools, and society at large. What a loving and wise God we serve—the Chief Architect of our lives, who designed the family as the primary vehicle for blessing, order, and national transformation.

As we reflect and pray today, we align ourselves with God’s divine blueprint for families, trusting Him to restore homes and, through them, restore nations.

Devotional Reflection

The strength of a nation is rooted in the strength of its families. When homes are healthy, nations are preserved; when families are broken, societies weaken. Scripture reveals that God’s redemptive work often begins at the family level—turning hearts, restoring relationships, and establishing His truth within the home.

Malachi prophesies a divine restoration that turns the hearts of parents to children and children to parents (Malachi 4:5–6). This restoration is not only emotional but spiritual, realigning families with God’s covenant purposes. Joshua’s declaration, “As for us and our house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15), reminds us that godly homes are built on intentional decisions to honour God.

Psalm 127 teaches us that unless the Lord builds the house, human effort is in vain. God is the true Builder, Sustainer, and Restorer of families. As we yield our homes to Him, He uses us to model godly relationships that influence communities and shape nations.

Today, we pray for the restoration of families across nations. As God strengthens our homes, He strengthens our witness, our legacy, and our national impact.
