Prayer of the Day:

Lord, thank You that You hear all my prayers. Help me to trust Your answers, whether they are ‘Yes,’ ‘No,’ or ‘Wait.’ Give me faith to believe in Your perfect timing and wisdom. May I seek not just Your gifts, but Your presence, knowing that You are always near. Amen.

Does God Answer All Your Prayers?

When we pray, we long for an answer from God. But sometimes, His response is not what we expect. Just as in cricket, where a batsman must listen carefully to calls of ‘Yes,’ ‘No,’ or ‘Wait,’ God answers our prayers in these same ways.

Scriptural Foundations & Key Messages

1.God Says ‘Yes’ (Psalm 17:13–15)

David cried out to God for help, and God answered. His response was ‘Yes.’

  • David’s example teaches us to begin each day seeking God’s presence: ‘As for me… I shall be fully satisfied when I awake to find myself beholding Your form’ (v.15, AMP).

  • Prayer is not just about asking for things—it is about enjoying communion with God.

  • God hears and responds, sometimes granting our requests immediately.

Application: When you pray, seek not just an answer, but deeper intimacy with God.

2.God Says ‘No’ to One Request, ‘Yes’ to Another (Matthew 20:20–34)

Rick Warren writes: ‘When the request is not right, God says “No.” When the timing is not right, God says “Slow.” When you are not right, God says “Grow.” But when the request, timing, and your heart are right, God says “Go.”’

  • The mother of James and John asked Jesus for honor for her sons. Jesus said ‘No’ because her motives were misguided (vv.20–28).

  • Two blind men asked for healing. Jesus, filled with compassion, said ‘Yes’ and restored their sight (vv.29–34).

Application: When God says ‘No,’ it may be because He sees what we cannot. Trust His wisdom.

3.God Says ‘Wait’ (Job 15:1–18:21)

Job suffered deeply and did not receive an immediate answer. Instead, he had to wait.

  • His friends wrongly assumed suffering was always a result of sin.

  • Yet Job declared, ‘Even now my witness is in heaven; my advocate is on high’ (16:19).

  • Jesus is our ultimate advocate, interceding for us (Hebrews 7:24–25).

Application: Even in seasons of waiting, trust that Jesus is interceding for you and that God’s timing is perfect.

Overall Takeaway

  • God hears every prayer. His answers may be ‘Yes,’ ‘No,’ or ‘Wait,’ but He always responds in love.

  • When He says ‘No,’ it is for our ultimate good. Trust that His plans are greater than ours.

  • Waiting is not wasted time. God is always working, even when we don’t see immediate results.

  • The goal of prayer is deeper intimacy with God. More than receiving, prayer is about knowing and trusting Him

Lord, thank You that You hear and answer my prayers according to Your perfect wisdom. Whether the answer is ‘Yes,’ ‘No,’ or ‘Wait,’ help me to trust in Your love and sovereignty. Amen.
