Prayer of the Day:
Lord, help me to put my trust and confidence in You. When I face fear, uncertainty, or trials, remind me that You see me, even when I cannot see You. Strengthen my faith, give me wisdom, and help me to walk closely with You. Amen.
You Can Trust God
Faith is not just about belief—it is about trust. During World War II, a father and son ran from a bombed building. The father jumped into a shell hole for safety and called for his son to jump. The boy, terrified, said, “I can’t see you!” His father replied, “But I can see you. Jump!” The boy trusted his father and leapt.
Faith in the Bible is about trusting a person—God. All relationships require trust, and faith in God transforms every aspect of our lives.
Biblical Foundations & Key Messages
1. Confidence in the Lord (Proverbs 3:21–35)
Where does your confidence come from? Is it from success, skills, or approval from others? True confidence comes from trusting in the Lord.
Wisdom: The wise trust in God, not in themselves. “Preserve sound judgment and discretion; they will be life for you” (v.21).
Peace: “When you lie down, you will not be afraid… your sleep will be sweet” (vv.24–25). Trust in God brings peace.
Goodness: “Never walk away from someone who deserves help” (v.27, MSG). Faith is shown through action.
Love: Trusting God leads to love for others—“Do not contrive evil against your neighbor” (v.29, AMP).
Intimacy: “The Lord… takes the upright into his confidence” (v.32). True faith leads to a close relationship with God.
Humility: “God gives grace to the humble” (v.34). Trust in God removes pride and brings blessings.
Application: Let your confidence rest in God, not in external things. Walk in wisdom, peace, goodness, love, intimacy with God, and humility.
2. Believe in Jesus (Matthew 21:18–32)
Faith is more than words—it requires action.
Faith moves mountains: “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer” (v.22). Trust in God, pray boldly, and do not doubt.
Faith must be lived out: The fig tree did not bear fruit (vv.18–20), just as the religious leaders did not live out their faith. True belief results in obedience.
Faith enters the kingdom: Jesus contrasts the religious leaders with tax collectors and prostitutes, who “repent and believe” (v.32).
Application: Demonstrate faith through action. Trust Jesus, live in obedience, and believe that God hears your prayers.
3. Trusting God in Trials (Job 22:1–24:25)
Job’s faith was tested in suffering, but he trusted God despite not understanding his circumstances.
Faith is tested in trials: “When he has tested me, I shall come forth as gold” (23:10b). Suffering refines us like gold in fire.
God’s ways are higher: Job’s friends had a simplistic view of suffering, but Job understood that faith means trusting God even when life seems unfair.
Hold onto God’s word: “I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my daily bread” (23:12).
Application: Trust God even when life doesn’t make sense. Allow trials to strengthen your faith, and hold onto His promises.
Overall Takeaway
Faith is trusting God, even when we can’t see the outcome.
Confidence in the Lord brings wisdom, peace, and humility.
True belief is shown through action, obedience, and prayer.
Suffering tests and strengthens faith, leading to spiritual growth.
Lord, help me to trust You in all circumstances. Strengthen my faith, guide my actions, and keep my heart close to You. Even in trials, let me come forth as gold, refined and purified in Your love. Amen.
