Prayer of the Day🙏
Lord, help me to live with intention and purpose. Teach me to deny myself, take up my cross daily, and follow You. I surrender my time, my gifts, and my desires to You. Fill me with Your Spirit, and help me make the most of the life You’ve given me. Amen.
Scriptures of the Day
• Proverbs 6:1–11 – “Go to the ant… consider its ways and be wise!”
• Mark 8:14–9:1 – “Whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it.”
• Exodus 37:1–38:31 – “He made everything the Lord commanded Moses.”
How to Make the Most of Your Life
Mother Teresa’s life was marked not by fame or fortune, but by sacrificial love. Her deformed feet—damaged by years of choosing the worst shoes so others could have better—are a picture of a life poured out for others. Though she owned little, she is remembered as one who truly made the most of her life.
Proverbs 6 urges us toward self-discipline—with our finances and our time. Poor financial decisions and laziness can rob us of fruitfulness. But wisdom, diligence, and humility set us free. Like the ant, we are called to work with foresight and purpose.
In Mark 8, Jesus teaches the upside-down truth of the Kingdom: life is found by giving it away. Peter confesses Jesus as the Messiah, but he doesn’t yet understand the cross. Jesus explains that true life requires self-denial. Trying to save our lives on our own terms will only lead to loss. But surrendering to Christ brings life in full.
Then, in Exodus 37–38, we meet Bezalel—a man filled with God’s Spirit to serve Him through craftsmanship. His workplace became his worship. His obedience turned daily labor into divine purpose.
Whether in a monastery or a marketplace, a hospital or a home, we are each called to serve God wholeheartedly with the time, gifts, and calling He’s placed in our hands.
Key Takeaways🔑
• A meaningful life begins with self-discipline and intentional choices.
• Jesus calls us to give our lives away in order to truly find them.
• God can use our daily work as a place of spiritual impact when done in obedience and Spirit-filled excellence.
