Prayer of the Day
Lord, help me not to chase after fame or approval from the world. Teach me to seek Your glory above all else. May I reflect Your light in everything I do and find joy in Your presence. Let Your glory be enough for me—greater than any applause or platform. Amen
Scriptures of the Day
• Psalm 26:1–12 – “I love the house where You live, the place where Your glory dwells.”
• Mark 9:2–32 – “They saw Jesus only.”
• Exodus 39:1–40:38 – “The glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.”
Better Than Fame and Celebrity
In today’s world, fame has become its own kind of religion. People chase recognition, followers, and approval as if it will satisfy the deepest parts of their hearts. But the Bible shows us that the glory people seek in the world is nothing compared to the glory of God.
David was a national hero, a celebrated king, yet his desire wasn’t to be exalted by people—it was to be in the presence of God’s glory. He didn’t crave the spotlight. Instead, he wrote, “Lord, I love the house where You live, the place where Your glory dwells” (Psalm 26:8). David pursued a blameless life—not to earn fame, but to honor the God he loved.
We see God’s glory again on the mountaintop in Mark 9, when Jesus is transfigured before Peter, James, and John. These disciples, for a moment, saw past Jesus’ humanity and caught a glimpse of His divine nature. And what happened next? “When they looked around, they saw no one except Jesus” (v.8). His glory outshone everything else.
Even Moses, after finishing the tabernacle, couldn’t enter because the glory of the Lord had filled it so powerfully (Exodus 40:34–35). This was the visible presence of God—His shekinah glory—settling among His people.
Today, that same glory dwells in us through the Holy Spirit. We don’t need to chase worldly fame to be seen or fulfilled. We have something far greater—an invitation to reflect the glory of God, becoming living temples in which He dwells (1 Corinthians 3:16; Ephesians 2:22).Fame fades. Applause dies out. But the glory of God is eternal. It satisfies like nothing else ever can.
Key Takeaways
• Celebrity is temporary, but God’s glory is eternal.
• We are called to reflect God’s glory—not seek our own.
• God’s presence fills us with purpose, identity, and lasting joy.
