Prayer of the Day
Lord, thank You that even in trouble, tests, and temptations, You are faithful. When I am weak, You are strong. When I am tempted, You give me strength to obey. When life overwhelms me, You hold me in Your hands. Thank You for Jesus—who trusted Your will over His own and gave Himself as the perfect sacrifice. Help me to live in gratitude, walking in trust and holiness. Amen.
Scriptures of the Day
• Psalm 31:9–18 – “But I trust in you, Lord; I say, ‘You are my God.’ My times are in your hands.”
• Mark 14:17–42 – “Yet not what I will, but what you will.”
• Leviticus 17:1–18:30 – “But you must keep my decrees and my laws.”
• Romans 8:28 – “In all things God works for the good of those who love him…”
God Is Faithful in Trouble, Tests, and Temptation
In Trouble… BUT I trust in You
David was overwhelmed—by grief, distress, physical pain, enemies, and public shame. Yet, in Psalm 31, he clung to hope. In the middle of chaos, he said, “But I trust in you, Lord… My times are in your hands.” Trust is tested in trouble—but like David, we can entrust our lives to God’s unfailing love.
In Tests… BUT what You will
In Mark 14, Jesus faced betrayal, abandonment, sorrow, and death. Still, He prayed, “Yet not what I will, but what you will.” Even when the cost was high, Jesus submitted to the Father’s plan. When life tests us, we can echo His words, knowing God’s will is perfect—even when it’s painful.
In Temptation… BUT you must keep my decrees
God’s people lived in a culture full of compromise and sexual immorality. In Leviticus 18, God clearly says, “But you must keep my decrees and my laws.” We are called to live differently. Holiness isn’t about rules—it’s about love, obedience, and walking in freedom. Paul reminds us, “But you were washed… sanctified… justified” (1 Corinthians 6:11). Temptation doesn’t have to win.
Takeaways
Trouble may press us, but we can trust in God’s unfailing love.
Testing may come, but God’s will is always best—even when it's hard.
Temptation may surround us, but we are called and empowered to live differently.
Jesus trusted, obeyed, and gave His life so we could live in freedom and faithfulness.
