Daily Bible Plan - Day 68

02 May 2025

This bible plan was created by Nicky and Pippa Gumbal.

Prayer of the Day

Lord, thank You for the grace that meets us in our weakness. You know our hearts—both the beauty and the brokenness. Thank You for boundaries that guard our lives and truth that guides our path. When we fail like Peter or stumble like Israel, remind us of Your forgiveness and power to restore. Help us to walk in integrity, holiness, and love. Amen.

Scriptures of the Day

• Proverbs 6:30–35 – “But a man who commits adultery has no sense; whoever does so destroys himself.”

• Mark 14:43–72 – “Before the rooster crows twice you will disown me three times.”

• Leviticus 19:1–20:27 – “Be holy because I, the Lord your God, am holy.”

• Luke 10:27 – “Love the Lord your God… and… love your neighbour as yourself.”

What’s in Your Heart?

In Weakness… BUT Sin Has ConsequencesThe writer of Proverbs draws a distinction between different sins—not to excuse any, but to show their varying impact. Stealing out of hunger has consequences, but adultery, he warns, leads to shame, jealousy, and destruction. Sin is always serious, but some sins carry deeper relational and emotional devastation. Still, we remember: no matter the failure, grace is available to those who repent.

In Hypocrisy… BUT Be AuthenticJudas betrayed Jesus with a kiss—a symbol of intimacy used as a weapon of betrayal. Peter, too, fell—denying Jesus three times despite his earlier boldness. In Mark 14, we’re reminded how easy it is to wear masks or let fear dictate our actions. But authenticity and repentance matter. Peter broke down and wept. Jesus restored him later—proof that even our biggest failures aren’t the end of the story.

In Temptation… BUT Be HolyLeviticus 19–20 is God’s call to holiness—a life set apart. His people lived in a morally compromised culture, just as we do today. From justice and honesty to purity and kindness, God’s laws aren’t chains but guardrails. They lead us to love well and live whole. To “be holy” isn’t about perfection—it’s about surrender, obedience, and daily dependence on God’s Spirit.

Our hearts are capable of both good and evil—but God invites us to choose life.Hypocrisy and failure are real—but grace and restoration are greater.God’s laws reflect His heart—and help us reflect His holiness.Jesus forgives, restores, and empowers us to live with integrity.
