Prayer of the Day

Lord, thank You for the mercy that meets us even when we fall short. You see our intentions, our fears, and our hidden struggles. Thank You for Your Word that convicts and comforts. When we rebel like Israel or hesitate like Moses, remind us of Your patience and power to redeem. Help us to walk in courage, truth, and grace. Amen.

Scriptures of the Day

• Proverbs 7:1–27 – “Do not let your heart turn to her ways or stray into her paths.”

• Mark 15:1–32 – “They crucified him… The King of the Jews.”

• Leviticus 21:1–22:33 – “I am the Lord, who makes you holy.”

• Philippians 2:8–11 – “Every knee should bow… and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord.”

What’s in Your Heart?

In Temptation… BUT Follow Wisdom: Proverbs 7 paints a vivid picture of temptation. It is not loud or violent but persuasive and subtle. Like the young man led astray, we too can find ourselves drifting when we stop guarding our hearts. God’s call is to treasure His commands, to let wisdom become our closest friend. Temptation always promises pleasure but leads to regret. Wisdom warns us before we step into danger and invites us back when we’ve gone too far.

In Rejection… BUT Jesus Is King: Mark 15 shows us the injustice Jesus endured: misunderstood, mocked, and brutally crucified. Yet through it all, Jesus remained silent and obedient because His mission was love. The very charge meant to ridicule Him"King of the Jews" was the truth. He is the promised King, but His crown was made of thorns. When life brings rejection or misunderstanding, we remember Jesus bore it first and triumphed in love.

In Ritual… BUT Pursue Holiness: Leviticus emphasizes purity, sacrifice, and the sacred role of the priesthood. But at its core, the message is simple: “Be holy, for I am holy.” God wasn’t after mere ceremony He desired a people whose hearts were set apart. Jesus fulfilled every requirement of the law. As our perfect High Priest and sacrifice, He made a way for us to live holy livesnot by our strength, but through His Spirit working in us.

In Humility… AND Jesus Is Lord: Philippians reveals the heart of the Gospel: Jesus humbled Himself, even to death on a cross. And because of that, God exalted Him. He is not just a good teacher or a suffering servant He is Lord of all. Every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess. This is the heart of our faith: the One who stooped lowest now reigns highest. Our response is worship, surrender, and awe.

Takeaways

  • Temptation is deceptive but wisdom and God’s Word help us resist.

  • Suffering isn’t the end Jesus redeems it for His glory.

  • Holiness is not about performance it’s about being set apart for God.

  • Jesus is Lord crucified, risen, and worthy of all honor.
