Introduction
Dear Church,
I am not quick to say congratulations just yet, because we still have two days to complete our 14-day cycle, and then we continue with another 10 days of intensive fasting and prayer—which means we still have about 12 days left.
However, I say this with deep conviction: we are not backing down.
I believe with all my heart that we have done well in keeping our engagement, unity, and consistency so far. Yet, I am equally convinced that the remaining weeks will be even more powerful. We are going to be renewed. We are going to be strengthened. The unity, togetherness, and fire we have ignited will not be compromised by the enemy’s plans.
History teaches us that during extended seasons of fasting and prayer, the enemy often attempts to creep in subtly—through distraction, loss of focus, misunderstanding, offense, or spiritual fatigue. This is usually the stage where prayer fire is tested. But this time, we are determined not to lose momentum while we are finishing strong and preparing to reap the fruit of our sacrifice.
This calls for intentional focus. We must be deliberate about seeking God, guarding our hearts, and removing every distraction. When we truly place a premium on fasting and prayer, we also place a premium on love, unity, hope, and spiritual alignment. These are the conditions that allow us to engage God deeply and experience lasting transformation.
Let us also remain sensitive to the little hinges the enemy may try to use—misalignment, confusion, unnecessary debates, misunderstandings, tension within our local assemblies, strained friendships, or subtle offenses. These things may appear small, but they can hinder spiritual progress if ignored. As we step into the next two weeks, this is the moment to push higher and rise to a greater spiritual altitude.
For this reason, I am adjusting the flow of our devotion today. Yesterday, we spoke powerfully about Sharing the Love of Christ, and although it appears again later in our schedule, I sensed strongly that we must not skip a very vital subject—Godly Families. Families are central to God’s redemptive plan, and nations are only as strong as the families that sustain them.
⸻
God’s Heart for Families
📖 “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it.”
— Psalm 127:1 (NKJV)
God is not only interested in churches and nations—He is deeply invested in families. The family is God’s first institution, and when families are strong, churches are healthy, and nations are stable. When families are broken, society reflects that brokenness.
📖 “And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers…”
— Malachi 4:6 (NKJV)
God’s restoration agenda always includes reconciliation across generations. Healing homes is a prophetic assignment for the Church in these last days.
⸻
Choosing Who We Serve at Home
📖 “But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
— Joshua 24:15 (NKJV)
Faith must first be lived out at home. Our homes are meant to be centres of worship, truth, prayer, and discipleship. A godly family does not mean a perfect family—but it is a family submitted to God’s leadership, guided by His Word, and sustained by His grace.
