DAY 4 – Fasting & Prayer

8. Januar 2026

Devotion by Reverend Joseph Antwi

Theme: My Job, My Kingdom Assignment (National Prosperity & Testimony)

Anchor Scriptures:

📖 Deuteronomy 8:18

📖 Psalm 90:17

📖 Matthew 5:16

🌍 INTRODUCTION

Yesterday at FCC, we reflected deeply on the nations Israel was commanded to conquer in Deuteronomy 7, and one of the most subtle yet powerful enemies identified was worldliness and materialism. These are not conquered by rejecting prosperity, but by placing God first.

Jesus made it clear that when we seek the Kingdom first, everything else follows in proper order.

📖 Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Does this teaching frown on prosperity for the believer? Absolutely not. What it corrects is the priority of the heart. Too much emphasis on material gain without Christ as the first point of contact turns prosperity into a vain pursuit, because what is gained without God cannot last.

But when God is sought first, prosperity becomes purposeful, sustainable, and a blessing to many.

📖 Deuteronomy 8:18 (NKJV)

“And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”

Our prayer is that the Church in Switzerland will raise many prosperous men and women, not for pride or display, but to fund the Kingdom joyfully, generously, and without grudging or debate. May we bless God’s work freely, knowing that everything we have comes from Him.

💼 PROSPERITY WITH PURPOSE

God does not bless His people for comfort alone. Kingdom prosperity carries responsibility. When God entrusts resources to His people, it is so that His covenant may be established and His glory revealed through our lives.

📖 Psalm 90:17 (NKJV)

“And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands.”

When God establishes our work, our success becomes sustainable, our influence becomes redemptive, and our testimonies glorify Him.

📖 Matthew 5:16 (NKJV)

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
