Theme: My Job, My Kingdom Assignment

Devotion: Acts 22
Introduction
Church family, I’m happy to be back bringing you today’s devotion.
Before you begin reading, pause and ask the Holy Spirit to teach you. As you go through this devotion, underline any verse that speaks to you during this chair time. Treat this Word like a meal — take it in slowly, chew on it, and meditate on it. Don’t rush; allow God to reveal His truths to your spirit.
Today we look at Acts of the Apostles 22:1–30, where Paul the Apostle stands boldly before a hostile crowd.
⸻
1. Be Intentional and Strategic
Paul motions to speak in Hebrew, the language of the people, so they can understand. Church, there’s a lesson for us: when we share the Gospel, be intentional about your audience.
• Meet young people at their level.
• Come to older people at their level.
• Scripture Reference: Acts 22:2
⸻
2. Testimony is Powerful
Paul does not hide his past. He speaks openly about persecuting the church, so that Christ may be glorified in his weakness. Church, don’t be ashamed of your story. God can use your past to manifest His power and grace in the lives of others.
I want to add my personal story here: Whenever I go out to preach the Gospel, I often see that what gets people’s attention is when I start to tell them about my testimony — where I come from, what I used to do, how I used to have multiple girlfriends, how I was addicted to pornography, all the struggles I had. I’ve seen this open the hearts of people, especially if they are struggling in similar ways, and show them they are not too dirty for God to save.
I am not saying everyone must have a “wrong” past like mine. Your testimony could be about anger, lack of peace, or not knowing the Word of God before. But everyone has a story of transformation — before Christ, our minds were often centered on worldly things, and after Christ, something changes.
Church, don’t be afraid to share your testimony. If I, a pastor, can boldly share mine without shame or fear of judgment, then you have no excuse. Your story can be the bridge that brings someone else to Christ.
• Scripture Reference: Acts 22:3–5, 14–15
⸻
3. The Gospel is for All
Opposition arises when Paul declares the Gospel is for the Gentiles — for us who were not originally called. Yet Paul continues boldly. Church, Kingdom assignments often face resistance, but we must remain faithful and unwavering.
• Scripture Reference: Acts 22:18–21
⸻
4. Heaven’s Citizenship Commands Authority
Paul declares his Roman citizenship. Instantly, those who wanted to examine him withdraw. Church, hear this: if earthly citizenship commands respect, how much more does heavenly citizenship carry authority?
• Our citizenship is in heaven (Philippians 3:20).
• Roman citizens paid for their status; we were purchased by Christ’s blood.
When you understand your identity in Christ:
• Depression withdraws
• Anxiety withdraws
• Every demonic influence withdraws
Your story, your gifts, your status in heaven matter. When people hear you are an ambassador of the Kingdom, opposition must spiritually withdraw.
• Scripture Reference: Acts 22:25–29
⸻
5. Kingdom Assignment Requires Boldness
Your story, strategy, and standing in heaven matter. Live boldly, declare truth, and walk in the power of your identity in Christ. Use your gifts, your story, and your opportunities wisely for God’s glory.
• Scripture Reference: Acts 22:30
