Devotion by Reverend Joseph Antwi
Theme: Sharing the Love of Christ to the Undying World — Church Without Walls

Devotion: Acts 28:1–31 ⸻
Hello, church family!
What an amazing Easter weekend we have had!
I am still trying to recover from this powerful milestone — the joy, the impact, the move of God. From evangelism, to Thursday and Friday Easter Convention, to fasting, throne room worship, prayer factory, the healings, the Word — to baptism on Saturday, street evangelism and parade, Sunday Welcome Day, and the evening Lucerne fellowship…
The impact and fellowship we experienced through the power of the Gospel — I truly have no more words.
And what a powerful way to climax the book of Acts!
Congratulations, church — you have journeyed through the entire book of Acts. I want to especially thank everyone who helped push this agenda. I believe now you understand what the book of Acts is about: revealing the nature of Jesus, the kind of apostles He used, the message they carried, and the greater works they did.
John 14:12 (NKJV): “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.”
⸻
Now let’s dive into today’s devotion as we look at Acts 28, and Paul’s arrival in Malta — a clear demonstration of sharing the love of Christ outside the church walls.
⸻
1. You Carry Fire — And Vipers Are Attracted to Fire (Acts 28:1–6)
The natives showed unusual kindness to Paul and those with him. As they gathered around the fire, a viper came out because of the heat and fastened onto Paul’s hand.
Now think about this — Paul was not the only one by the fire. Why him?
Church, hear this:
Vipers appear where there is fire.
When there is spiritual fire — in a church, in a region, in a life — opposition will arise.
This is why we must pray for our leaders. Pray for your pastor. Pray for those carrying the mission. Because when the fire is burning, vipers will come.
But look at Paul:
Acts 28:5 (NKJV): “But he shook off the creature into the fire and suffered no harm.”
He didn’t panic. He didn’t pray long prayers. He shook it off.
May every viper around us — whether human, spiritual, or situational — be shaken into the fire in Jesus’ name. May no poison affect us.
The people expected Paul to swell and die. They began to speak negatively.
Church, when believers — especially leaders — go through things, people will always look for explanations.
But nothing happened to Paul.
The one who suffered was the viper — not the man who lives in the presence of God.
I pray for you:
May you never encounter danger before your time in Jesus’ name.
⸻
2. Your Presence Must Bring Healing (Acts 28:7–10)
Paul was welcomed into the house of Publius, whose father was sick.
Acts 28:8 (NLT): “Paul went in and prayed for him, and laying his hands on him, he healed him.”
After that, many others came and were healed.
This is what it means to share the love of Christ.
Despite everything Paul had gone through — storms, shipwreck, snake bite — he still chose to serve.
He did not withhold healing. He did not become bitter.
Church, this is our prayer:
That we will come to a place where when we pray, healing happens, miracles happen, and lives are transformed.
⸻
3. Not Everyone Will Believe — But Keep Sharing (Acts 28:23–24)
Paul continued to testify about Jesus, explaining and persuading people.
Some believed. Others did not.
Church, not everyone will accept the message — but that must not stop us.
We are called to preach, not to force belief.
⸻
4. The Gospel Cannot Be Bound (Acts 28:30–31)
Paul was under house arrest, yet:
Acts 28:31 (NLT): “Boldly proclaiming the Kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ. And no one tried to stop him.”
He rented his own house and turned it into a ministry center.
People came — and he preached, taught, and ministered.
This is church without walls.
⸻
5. A Call to This Season — Church Without Walls
Church, this is our heartbeat in this season:
When I see other religions boldly promoting their message — even in Switzerland — raising platforms and spreading their beliefs,
How much more must we rise?
May we not be silent.
May we witness daily.
May we go out intentionally.
May our flyers reach every corner.
May every young person encounter Jesus.
From now until Pentecost —
May the church be loud, vibrant, and active.
Don’t say:
“I am just a youth.”
“I am just an adult.”
“I don’t know what to say.”
The little you have — God will use it.
God will use you to transform Basel, Lucerne, Bern, Switzerland, and beyond — for His glory.
⸻
Final Charge
Church family,
• Carry the fire — and don’t fear the vipers
• Shake off every attack — it will not harm you
• Let your presence bring healing and transformation
• Keep sharing Christ — whether people believe or not
• Turn every place into a platform for the Gospel
⸻
Now take a moment to pray and soak in this Word.
Ask the Lord to use you. Ask Him to give you someone to share His love with today.
If this blessed you, please leave a comment on this website — scroll down, you will find the comment section. Share what the Lord has placed on your heart.
God bless you!
We’ll see you, God willing, tonight for secret place at 7pm
Shalom
Rev Joseph
Please say a prayer for me❤️

Wow The Devotion Today is truly amazing what catched me the most is While they were at the Fire a Viper fastened on his Hand. As the Native people witnessed this they said that he is a murder and will die soon. But Paul just shook off the Viper into the fire and no harm was done. Even when the Natives talked bad about him he still helped them healed the Chiefs Father and many others on the Island.
Thankyou Reverend Joseph and The Communications Teams 🙏❤️
Wow, this easter season has been such a blessing! Thank you so much Pastor Joseph for this devotion it really spoke to my heart today. I think throughout this easter my burden for the souls has been increased- through the evangelism, the deep devotions and of course our theme of the month.
What I could take from this devotion is just how much Apostle Paul embodies the true spirit filled disciples of Christ. He went through storms, shipwreck, snake bite and yet he still served, as Pastor placed it so beautifully. This just reminds me that our burden for the undying souls should be greater than our emotions. It amazes me how Apostle Paul uses every circumstance to preach the…
Woww we thank God for our daily devotions!
God richly bless you Reverend!
The journey through Acts was full of testimonies, ministry of Apstole Paul, revelation on how God uses vessels and much more details!
Today, out of all the revelations of this exciting chapter (28); I enjoyed the verses of
“For the next two years, Paul lived in Rome at his own expense. He welcomed all who visited him, boldly proclaiming the Kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ. And no one tried to stop him.”
Acts of the Apostles 28:30-31 NLT
What a living sacrifice! All throughout this Book and more, we are encouraged to live as boldly as Paul lived & offer our vessel…
