Daily Bible Plan – Acts of the Apostels 23

30. March 2026

Devotion by Reverend Joseph Antwi

Theme: My Job, My Kingdom Assignment

Devotion: Acts 23

Hello church family,

I’m super excited to come your way again with today’s devotion. Gradually, we are approaching one of the most sacred seasons of our Christian faith — Easter.

In many parts of the world, Easter has been reduced to bunnies and cultural traditions with pagan roots. But for us, our focus remains clear: Christ Jesus and Him crucified.

As we approach this season, I’m also glad that we are bringing our monthly theme — “My Job, My Kingdom Assignment” — to a powerful climax.

Let’s have a quick recap of Acts of the Apostles 22:1–30. We saw how Paul the Apostle spoke in a language the people understood, and they became silent. Church, always speak in a way your audience understands.

We also saw that Paul revealed his Roman citizenship, and it brought fear to the commanders. If earthly citizenship carries such authority, how much more our heavenly citizenship — paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ.

Now let’s step into Acts 23.

1. Your Mouth Is a Weapon — Guard It (Acts 23:1–5)

Paul stands and declares he has lived with a clear conscience. Suddenly, the high priest Ananias commands that he be struck on the mouth.

(Paraphrase: “The high priest ordered those standing near Paul to strike him on the mouth” — Acts 23:2)

Why the mouth? Because his mouth was his weapon.

Church, the enemy attacks what God wants to use.

Paul reacts, but when corrected, he humbles himself and aligns with Scripture — acknowledging authority. This teaches us honor, even when leadership is imperfect.

2. Use Spiritual Intelligence in Battle (Acts 23:6–10)

Paul discerns the crowd — Pharisees and Sadducees.

(Paraphrase: “Paul realized one group believed in the resurrection and the other did not” — Acts 23:6–8)

So he speaks about the resurrection, and suddenly the assembly is divided.

Church, wisdom can scatter opposition.

3. God Will Visit You in Difficult Moments (Acts 23:11)

(Paraphrase: “That night, the Lord stood by Paul and said, ‘Be of good cheer… you will testify in Rome’” — Acts 23:11)

Church, God did not send a message — He came Himself.

Your assignment is not over until God says it is over.

4. When Men Plot, God Reveals (Acts 23:12–22)

Now this is deep.

(Paraphrase: “More than forty men bound themselves with an oath, saying they would neither eat nor drink until they had killed Paul” — Acts 23:12–13)

Church, pause and think about this.

These men were fasting — not for breakthrough, not for revival — but to destroy a man on assignment.

And this is where I ask you a serious question:

Have you ever fasted for your pastor before in your life?

Because while some are praying, others are plotting.

If your church is blessing you, take responsibility. Pray for those serving you.

We face battles you may not see — spiritual, internal, and external. Not because we are the problem, but because the enemy hates the Gospel and does not want it to advance.

But look at God!

(Paraphrase: “Paul’s nephew heard of their ambush and went and told Paul” — Acts 23:16)

God used a young boy.

Church, may God raise helpers for you — even unexpected ones — who will expose hidden dangers.

And note this wisdom:

The boy did not spread the news everywhere. He went directly to Paul — the one concerned.

And the commander even said:

(Paraphrase: “Tell no one that you have revealed these things” — Acts 23:22)

Church, not every matter is for public discussion. Some battles require divine discretion.

5. When the Enemy Plans, God Overprotects (Acts 23:23–35)

Now look at God’s response.

(Paraphrase: “Prepare 200 soldiers, 70 horsemen, and 200 spearmen to escort Paul safely by night” — Acts 23:23–24)

That is 470 men protecting one man!

Forty men plotted evil, but God responded with overwhelming force.

Church, this is how God works. He does not just protect — He overprotects.

God used a young boy to trigger a massive divine response.

May God raise “little people” — unexpected vessels — who will expose the plans of the enemy to the right authorities.

May God deploy divine protection over your life — spiritually and physically.

Final Charge

Church family,

Take your chair time seriously today.

Read Acts of the Apostles 23:1–35 slowly. Underline what speaks to you. Meditate on it deeply.

Don’t rush the Word — treat it like a full meal.

And now, take time to pray:

• Pray into what you have read

• Pray for the church

• Pray for your district

• Pray for your pastors, presiding leaders, and their wives

Stand in the gap for those serving you.

Don’t forget to:

• Invite others

• Leave your comments on the website

• Encourage others on the WhatsApp group

And we will meet tonight in the Secret Place for our final servant training.

God bless you richly.

Pastor Joseph Antwi
